Richard Simrell, 78, passed away unexpectedly on October 3, 2025.
He is predeceased by his parents Frederick and Esther; wife Carollee "Carol" and baby daughter Christine; brothers Fred and Bruce Simrell and niece Traci Simrell.
He is survived by loving children Amy Habachi (Robert Doane) and Peter Simrell; grandson Steven Phommasy; sisters-in-law JoAnne Simrell and Kathy Simrell as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He always loved talking to people, very sociable. He was a man of faith, big wrestling fan, played tennis as a kid, stamp collector and loved trains. A long-time member of Broad Ave Presbyterian Church. A loving husband, father and grandfather that will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 10am to 11am at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 137 Robinson St. Binghamton. A Funeral Service will follow at 11am. Burial be in Chenango Valley Cemetery.
