Richard Allen Sims Sr.

LANCASTER, S.C. - Richard Allen Sims, Sr. passed away on June 30, 2025 with his family at his bedside.
He was born in Lancaster, South Carolina where he lived most of his life and graduated from Lewisville High School. He was a treasured son, brother, Daddy, and Pawpaw.
Rick, Sr. was preceded in death by his Father, John Wesley Sims, his mother, Hazel Sims Swain, and his grandson, Zachary Daniel Sims.
Rick is survived by his children; Tracy Sims, Beth Sims, Richard Sims, Jr. and his wife Tonya; along with his beloved grandchildren: Angela (Austin), Carley (Brenton), Hannah (Hunter), Anna (Jacob), Hailey, Aaron, Chris, and Abigail as well as four great-grandchildren. Pawpaw will be remembered for his deep love for his children and grandchildren, his humor, and smile that could light up a room. He touched the lives of many but especially his family whom he loved selflessly and fully. He will also be remembered as possibly the greatest Clemson Football fan in history, never missing a game and proudly wearing his extensive collection of Clemson attire daily.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Calvary Campus SBC in Lancaster on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 11am. Family will receive friends beginning at 10 am at 100 Barron Blvd., Lancaster, SC 29720.
