Richard F. Smith, 78, of Paducah passed away peacefully at his home on  Monday, September 2, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 2, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, Richard was the son of the late Virgil and Pauline Smith.

Richard dedicated sixteen years to McCracken County, where he served as an Electrical Inspector. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and served on the Advisory Board for WKCTC. He always found solace and happiness in activities that allowed him to connect with nature and live life to the fullest. Woodworking, fishing, and camping brought him great delight and peacefulness. However, being "Grandpa" to his grandbabies was his most treasured and rewarding activity to devote his time to.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 6, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Keeling & Goodman Funeral Home with Greg Moyers officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, 1613 Park Avenue, Paducah, KY 42001. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday from 11:00 am until the funeral hour, at the funeral home.

Richard is survived by his adoring wife of 56 years, Patricia Smith of Paducah; his son, Christopher Smith and daughter-in-law, Stephanie of Paducah; two step-sisters; his granddaughter, Tatum Smith of Paducah; and his four treasured great-grandchildren, Christopher, Chase, Amalee, and Arya.

Richard's presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones and all who were fortunate enough to know him. Keeling & Goodman Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Smith family.
