Richard "Rick" Soderlund

Richard "Rick" Soderlund, 65 of Abilene passed away December 28, 2023. He was born in Oberlin, Kansas, February 23, 1958, the son of Alfred and Elaine (Rippe) Soderlund. He was united in marriage to Cheryl Christiansen. They later divorced. On April 26, 2005 he was united in marriage to Jo Bottorff. They recently divorced. Rick worked for Tim's Cabinets where he built custom cabinets. He also worked for Solomon Corporation where he was an assistant manager of reclamation. He also worked for Price Truck Line as a dock hand. Rick enjoyed fishing, woodworking, painting, fast cars and Chevy trucks. Rick is survived by his siblings, Lori Dreiling of Hays, Kansas; Gene and wife Cheryl Soderlund of Horton, Kansas, Tracy and wife Misti Soderlund of Danbury Nebraska; Sister-in-law: Meghan Soderlund of Beaver City, Nebraska. Nieces and nephews: Chris Soderlund; Kim White; Darby Soderlundand his wife Misty; Jamie and husband Jordan Macfee and their children, Taedan, Brynlee and Bailey; Jean Soderlund; Jill and husband Tim Coleman and their daughters Adriana and Makenzie Coleman; Dakota and wife Kaylee Soderlund and their son Tegan Soderlund; Cheyenne Soderlund and fiancée, Ryan Vance; Brett Soderlund and Heather Meyer. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Aaron and three brothers, Kenny, Jim and Trevor. Funeral services for Rick will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Abilene City Cemetery.
