Richard John "Rick" Stasny

Richard John "Rick" Stasny, 57, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Monday, October 27, 2025, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
Rick was born Saturday, December 30, 1967, in Ashtabula, OH, a son of the late William Stasny and Evelyn Smith Cutright. On March 30, 2002, in Elkins, he married the former Leslie Ryan who survives at home.
Also left to cherish Rick's memory are three children, Bayleigh Timinski and husband Stan of Latrobe, PA, Logan Harris and husband Tyler of Elkins, Colten Stasny of Elkins, two grandchildren, Stanley John IV "SJ", Tinsley Harris, siblings, Bob Stasny, Cheri Tacy, Alvin, Kevin, Chuck Cutright, step-father, Charles "Tim" Cutright, in-laws, Kenny and Mary Ryan, and his faithful Newfoundland, Sully.
Rick was a graduate of Buckhannon Upshur High School and then served his country in the United States Army. He was employed as the Director of Classification at Pruntytown Correctional Center. Following his retirement, he was employed at Davis and Elkins College as a public safety officer. Rick was an avid hunter and fisherman. Most of all, Rick loved spending time with his grandchildren. Rick was a member of HW Daniels Post #29, American Legion, Elkins Lodge # 108, A. F. & A.M., and The Tygart Valley Scottish Rite Masons.
Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 1 pm until 3 pm. Rick's request for cremation will then be honored.
