Richard Glen Sumsion

1931 ~ 2025

Millcreek, UT -Richard Glen Sumsion of Millcreek, Utah, passed away on January 1, 2025. Richard was born on January 6, 1931, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Glen Willis and Clara Johnson Sumsion. He grew up in Springville, Utah, and graduated from BYU. On June 17, 1955, He married (Edna) LaPrele Olsen in the Manti Temple. Richard emulated Christ as much as any person we know and devoted his life to serving others. He always had a smile on his face and was patient, kind, generous, and helpful. He never raised his voice or spoke harshly of others.

Richard is survived by his wife, LaPrele; his 5 children: Diane Aston, Linda (Dennis) Siebenhaar, Daniel Glen (Kristi) Sumsion, Marcie (Stuart) Clark, Mark Richard (Stacy) Sumsion; 16 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers-Robert and Owen, and his son-in-law Tom Aston.
