Richard S. Taylor

Richard S. Taylor, long time Melrose resident, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Winchester Hospital. He was 91. Richard was born on November 3, 1928 in Boston, the son of the late Harry and Lillian (Rothberg) Taylor. He was raised by his grandmother Celia Salzberger in West Roxbury. He attended Bridgton Academy and graduated in 1947. He joined the United States Army serving in the Korean War and was honorably discharged on April 1, 1953 as a Corporal. Richard worked for New England Telephone and later AT&T for thirty years and was a member of the North Suburban Home Organ Society. Richard is the son of the late Harry and Lillian (Rothberg) Taylor. Loving cousin of Mark Salzberger of Sinking Spring, PA. Cherished friend of Tony DeFreitas of Woburn. Due to public health concerns, services for Richard will remain private.
