Richard Joesph (Jody) Terry Jr. 06/10/1959-04/26/2024 64 of Bloomingdale Ga passed away after a long illness at Abercorn Rehabilitation of Savannah.
Jody was born in Savannah to the late Margaret Elizabeth Bowen Terry and Richard Joesph Terry Sr.
Jody was preceded in death by his beloved sister affectionately known as Kitten.
Jody was a character! He was loved by all who knew him, he was funny and caring. Although Jody didn't have much, he would do anything he could for you.He worked hard all his life starting at a young age working for his uncle on his Shrimp Boat. At age 18 he started working as a Welder and there he found his passion. He loved to tell stories about the old working days and the good times on Montgomery and Ossabaw Island and the friends he made along the way. He kept you laughing with the stories he would tell. Jody loved the river and fishing with his brother David. He loved carpentry and making things with his hands. Jody loved animals especially his last companion T-bone his Black Lab that passed away a week before. They are together in heaven and will be missed by so many that loved them. He was a good friend.
Jody is survived by his brother David Terry of Savannah, his special friend Janet OHara and Billy and Angie Burns and family who are longtime friend/family.
A private memorial is planned for a later date.
A special thanks to GHC of Savannah ( Georgia Hospice Care) for taking care of him in his final days.
A special donation can be made in honor of T-bone to National Spay and Alliance Savannah 11 Gateway Blvd Savannah, Ga 31419.
