Richard A. Thelen

James Judd, I am Dick's daughter. My father helped build St. Gerard parish and was buried from there. I think the Bruce Thelen (a football coach) you are talking about worked at Consumers and graduated from Pewamo Westphalia with my husband. Bruce passed away about 5 years ago and I do not know that he was closely related.

Was he related to Bruce Thelen who lived on West Saginaw? I went to school with Bruce and belonged to St. Gerard Parish. I lived on Garfield Road, just down the road from where Bruce lived.

We didn't know this fine American. We just watched the movie USS Indianapolis. Upon searching for survivors, we came upon this obit. My wife and I live in Jackson, and she was in the Navy as well, and we felt a kindred spirit. To a life well lived. Fair winds and following seas.........

Sorry to hear of Dick's passing, he was an honorable man and will be missed by many who knew him. I worked with him for many years and have always had the utmost respect for him and his dedication to GM. Prayers for the family during this difficult time.

He was a great man and loving father. You all have much to be thankful for and much to live up to! I will continue to pray for him.
