Richard Thomas

Richard "Rick" Thomas of Gainesville, FL, passed away on September 21, 2022 from complications due to cancer. An artist and baker, Rick's smile would light up a room - he loved people and people loved him, and he touched everyone with kindness. Rick was born to the late David Underwood and Mary Ann (Fry) Thomas on December 31, 1947 in Louisville, KY. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of forty-two and a half years, Jean M.G. Thomas; three sons and their spouses, Ian Sutherland (Anita Shek) Thomas, Christopher David (Jessica Hilton) Thomas and Kevin Hobson (Kate Martinez) Thomas;two brothers, David and Brian Thomas, a sister, Anne Thomas,and two grandchildren. A graveside service has been scheduled for Monday, October 3, 2022, at 3 PM at the Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery. Countryside Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery.
