Richard “Dick” Tidd, age 85, of Meadville, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 3, 2026 at Crawford Care Center. He was born on November 5, 1940 in Meadville, PA to the late Wilson and Althea (Dawson) Tidd. Dick married Frances C. Zajac on July 29, 1966. She preceded him in death August 28, 2003.
Dick was a graduate of Meadville High School. He worked for 55 years at Meadville Medical Center until his retirement in 2005. Dick was a member of the Meadville Sertoma Club and the Jaycees. He was an avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan. Throughout the years, he was also a devoted fan of Meadville High School Athletics. He ran the chains for the Meadville High School football for many years.
Dick is survived by one daughter, Denise (Glenn) Field of Conneautville, PA and one son, Richard (Patti) Tidd of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; five grandchildren, Danelle (Terry) Stellmach, Noah Tidd, Brooke Tidd, Apryl (Dan) Boyle and Forrest (Emma) Schauer; five great-grandchildren, Killian, Brayden, Arya, Amilia and Paysen; one sister, Nancy Mitch of Pensacola, FL, and his nephew, Brian Tidd.
In addition to his parents and wife, Dick was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Tidd and three sisters, Evelyn Farley, Alice Keller and Betty Dean.
Per the family’s request, there will be no services at this time. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
