Richard J. Valley

Mr. Valley, age 63 years, died March 8, 2012 at McLaren Bay Region. He was born in Bay City on December 17, 1948 to the late Ernest and Opal (Coggins) Valley. Prior to retirement he was employed at Saginaw Steering Gear. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife, the former Carol J. Kleinert, whom he married December 17, 1971, his children: Amy Leix and Scott Valley, 4 grandchildren: Ryan and Alex Leix, Austin and Ashlynn Valley, 3 sisters: Ruth (Tom) Luptowski, Faye (John) Lipinski, Kay (Ray) Good, 2 brothers: Ray (Margie) Valley and Ronald Valley,a brother-in-law Harvey Kleinert and a sister-in-law Kathy (Jim) Volk. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers Ernest Valley Jr. and John Valley and a sister Rose Wakefield. Funeral and committal service will be Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at Pilgrim Lutheran Church. The Rev. Carl F. Trosien will officiate. Private burial will be at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family wishes. Visiting hours will be Saturday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home. He will lie in state at the Church on Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until service time.
