Richard Steven Voivedich was born on July 17, 1957, in Otsu, Japan and passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the age of 68.
Richard became the owner of Lightspeed Motorsports in Gonzales. He himself was a motorcycle enthusiast. He was a proactive owner - exploring the latest merchandise, enjoyed rapport with his customers and mentored many with his voice of reason in decision making, whether personal or business. He loved the outdoors, especially camping on weekends at Land of Pines. Gardening was relaxing for him, along with walking the beach, swimming in his pool or the Gulf and sitting in front of a warm chiminea while listening to country music. He was passionate about his LSU TIGERS, cheering for his team whether in victory or defeat.
Richard is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 43 years, Jennie Raffo Voivedich; son, Steven Voivedich (Casey); daughters, Noel Voivedich Warren (Josh) and Paige Voivedich; grandchildren, Naomi, Sophie and Kehl Voivedich, Jeanne Warren, Noah Hoover and Julien Jerez; sisters, Susan Voivedich and Cristin Voivedich Morgan (Chris); brother, Benedict Voivedich, Jr. (Annette); and close friends, Diane and Alan Brown (DiDi and Papa Alan), as well as numerous in laws, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Benedict Edward Voivedich, Sr. and Nannie Peters Voivedich; and brothers, Michael (Sheryl) and Ron Voivedich.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Virginia at Clarity Hospice for taking such good care of Richard and the family.
