Reverend Richard Dale Wallace, of Claremore, Oklahoma, entered his heavenly home on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the age of 86. Dale was a devoted and faithful husband, father, and grandfather.
He was known for his sense of humor and plain speech, never needing “Job for an interpreter.” His callings comprised pastoring churches, traveling the evangelistic field and serving in Christian education positions. His lifeworks included, but are not limited to dairy farming, carpentry, and ministry. He invested greatly in the lives of many people. A master carpenter, he apprenticed several individuals in the trade.
In his later years, he and his wife Marilyn, who he lovingly referred to as “Gran”, enjoyed horse and buggy trail rides. He dearly loved family gatherings that always included music and singing per his request. He will be deeply missed and sadly mourned by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ellen “Trixie” and Raymond Wallace; son, Michael Dale Wallace; and brother, William Dean “Bill” Wallace.
Dale is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marilyn Wallace, of the home; daughters, Donna Brown and husband Greg of Mannford, OK, Cheryl Attaway and husband Dewayne of Texarkana, AR, and Lisa Shaffer and husband Michael of Roanoke, VA; grandchildren, Misty Brown, Dustin Brown and wife Amanda, Michael Attaway and wife Raychel, Vickie Pennington and husband Jason, Deanna Matlock and husband Justin, Melissa Shaffer, Melody Sanders and husband Jonathan, and Lindsay Shaffer; great grandchildren, Greyson Mackey, Axton and Paisley Brown, Raygean, Micah, Malachi Attaway, Chloe, Malia, Olivia, Gabriella and Levi Pennington, Calista Attaway, and Blakley Matlock.
