Richard Martin Wellnitz, born April 8, 1957, passed away on October 24, 2024, at his home in Farmington, NM, at the age of 67. He was born in Minneapolis, MN to Marvin Emery and Geraldine Elaine (Helland) Wellnitz.
Richard was the third of six children. He called many places in the US home, including Minnesota, Florida, California, Idaho, and New Mexico. Richard traveled the world on many adventures while working as a plane mechanic. He loved hanging out with his children and grandchildren watching movies or playing cards. And he loved to watch the NASCAR races with his son and daughter-in-law.
Richard is preceded in death by both parents, his sister, Janet Karen, and his grand-daughter, Tiffanie.
Richard is survived by three sisters, Rose Marie, Linda Betty, and Joann Helene, one brother, James Edward, his children, Michael and Michelle (Terry), daughter-in-law, Linda, and his grandchildren, Darian, Baleigh, Julian, Chelsea, Aidan, Addyson, and Dawson.
A graveside service will be at Memory Gardens, 6917 E Main Street, Farmington, NM 87402 on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 2pm.
