Richard F. "Dick" White, age 94, a lifelong resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Friday, September 19, 2025 at his residence.

Dick was born on August 20, 1931 in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late Clarence and Gertrude Stahl White. Dick attended Lincoln High School and graduated with the class of 1950. Following high school he became employed as an accountant with the Manitowoc Department of Public Works for a number of years. Dick then helped establish the Manitowoc Public Transit System and became the supervisor for the following 32 years until he retired. On October 31, 1999 he married Karen St. John at his residence in Manitowoc. Dick was an umpire for the Manitowoc Recreational Softball League, volunteered as a driver for the Manitowoc Red Cross Chapter, loved fishing and woodworking and spending time at their cottage in Northern Michigan. He had a great love for his dogs and taking them for walks on the beach.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Karen, five children, Mary C. Petersen, Manitowoc, Deborah A. Steckert, Manitowoc, Sharon K. White, Manitowoc, Jean (Brian Grover) White, Milwaukee, and James R. White, Spring, Texas; two grandchildren, Sarah E. (Bob) Belair and Rebecca (Axel) LeRoy; two great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Sam Belair; one step son, Jason (Jenn) Bauch, North Carolina; three step grandchildren: Haleigh Bauch, James David "JD" Bauch, and Hannah Bauch; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and special friends and neighbors too many to list yet knew and loved Dick who could be counted on for building, repairing, trimming, and even talking what a friend is about and living it. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Gertrude White, son-in-law, Marvin Steckert, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol (Bob) Cretz and Pat (John) Koralesky, twin brother, Robert White, and step son Shane St. John.

The family would appreciate memorials in Dick's name to the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Patient Care, W2850 State Road 28, Sheboygan Falls, WI 53085; Berean Fellowship Church, 1402 Clark Street, Manitowoc, WI 54220; or the Lincoln Park Zoological Society of Manitowoc, 1215 North 8th Street, Manitowoc, WI 54220.

With respect to Dick's wishes there will be no visitation of services held. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory in Manitowoc. Online condolences to the family may be sent to www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com
