Richard Willie Jr, better known as Jr. Willie, passed away on December 28th 2024. Mr. Willie was a life-long resident of St. Tammany parish. After a stint in the Navy, he returned and married Alice Edwards and had 4 children. Mr. Willie worked as a welder for over 45 years after driving trucks cross country.
Mr. Willie was born in Independence on November 15th, 1944 to Richard Willie Sr. and Margie Myers. He was the eldest of 12 children. He was preceded in death by both parents, Melvin Willie, Grace Christensen (Greg), Anna Marie Barker (Edward), Mildred Bohiem and son Michael Paul Willie.
He is survived by Erwin Willie (Sharon) Linda Kerner, Dennis Willie (Josie) Adrian Willie (Peggy) Steve Willie (Sandra) Kathleen Nunez (Randall) JM Carlise (Jo Ann), by his children Amanda Willie, Anglin Manint (Charles), Richard Allen Willie (Felicia), Thomas Edward Willie (Theresa), Glen David McGrath, Anna McDanell (Kyle), Patricia Sherer (Brent), John Thomas McGrath aka 'Frog'.
He is also survived by ex-wife Kathleen Willie, 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren as well as scores of nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A Viewing will be held at Bagnell & Son Funeral Home on Saturday, January 4th, 2025 at 9 AM, with Funeral Service to follow in the Chapel at 11 AM.
