Richard Wright Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 20, 2026.
Richard Booth Wright, known to many as "Dick," passed away at the age of 89.

Born in Boston, MA, Richard was the son of Elijah and Alice. At the age of three, he was adopted by Leslie and Mary Wright and raised in Canyon Country. He attended Silver Spring School and graduated from Hart High School in 1954.

Richard proudly served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960 during the Korean War era. He carried his identity as a veteran with pride throughout his life and will be laid to rest at Riverside National Cemetery with military honors.

Following his military service, Richard worked for Western Tube and Conduit for 30 years. Even after retirement, he continued working, including positions at Orchard Supply, Toyota, and Volkswagen. He also worked part-time as a golf marshal at Dublin Ranch, a job he often said was the best he ever had.

Richard married Jeffy, and together they raised four sons: Todd, Les (Rose), Toby (Linda), and Eddie (Bonnie). He was a proud grandfather to Garrett, Gina, Joey, Robert, Allan, and Julian, and a great-grandfather to Anthony and Kara.

In 1998, Richard married Sandra Wright. Through their marriage, he gained two stepchildren, Margie (Hanns) and Andrew (Nicole), and additional grandchildren: Tara, Hansi, Hollie, and Wesley.

Richard will be remembered for his caring personality, his love of golf and car shows, and his strong work ethic. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Richard will be put to rest at Riverside National Cemetery, July 13th at 11:00AM
