Rick Poe was one of the first people I met at BW. We lived in a quad our freshman year in Saylor Hall along with Pat Kurka and Pete Good. We then roomed together our sophomore year in Constitution SW.
But my favorite memory of Rick has to be our sophomore year when we lived on the Pi Lam fraternity floor. We were not yet members, this was early fall, and one of the fraternity brothers, Jeremy Norman, knocked on our door at 2 in the morning. Apparently the room Rick and I were living in was his room the year before. Let´s just say "Norm" was enjoying the night´s festivities so much he thought he still lived in that room. He knocked, I answered half asleep, and let Norm in the room and went back to bed. I woke up the next morning and Rick is screaming. Here Rick had Norm´s old bed and Norm had climbed in. When Rick woke up he found Norm in bed with him. Rick was so mad but man did we laugh about that forever. That is my favorite memory of Rick Poe. RIP roomie. You´re gone way too soon.

My first job was babysitting Ricky. I was so excited. I loved taking care of him. He was so tiny. He was like a little baby doll, and putting him in Uncle Sonny and Aunt Gerri's awesome jacuzzi tub, he loved it! Thank you for trusting me with your little angel.

Love you,
Denise

I moved to Avon Lake in 2021 and Rick was my 1st Allstate agent. He was wonderful and so helpful. My deepest condolences to the family.

Rick was a childhood friend of mine from the Mentor headlands. We grew up playing football, baseball, basketball and fishing.

We meet Rick when our son Chad Donovan & Rick went to Baldwin Wallace College together! Been like our son for many, many years! Gonna share a few pics! He was a one in a million guy for sure & my son´s best friend! We are going to miss him dearly. We are very thankful he know Jesus & will see him again someday.

Words cannot express how shocked and saddened Roger and I are, hearing Rick has passed.
Our deepest sympathies go out to Janell and all of Rick's family and friends in this difficult moment in your lives. It is always hard to except the death of a friend or loved one. Being as young as Rick, only makes it more difficult to understand.
Sending all of you prayers of strength and healing.
