Rick Scherer Obituary

Rick Allan Scherer, 58, of Evans, Georgia went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 31st, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering faith, deep love and a quiet strength that touched everyone around him.

Rick was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana and grew up in Ossian, Indiana.

Rick loved Jesus deeply and lived his life pointing others to Him. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 15 years, Tanya, and a loving father to Garrett (26), Gabriella (12), Joshua (12) and Jacob (12). His family was his greatest earthly joy, second only to Jesus. He poured himself into them with consistency, humility, care, and attention.

In his everyday life, Rick found joy in simple, meaningful things. He enjoyed reading God's Word and growing in deeper relationship with Jesus. An attentive father, he valued teaching his children life skills and cheering them on in all of their athletic activities. He especially found peace walking the beach, where he felt most at ease surrounded by God's incredible creation.

As a lifelong and passionate Dallas Cowboys fan, Rick never missed a chance to cheer on his favorite team. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and working on home improvement projects in his spare time.

Rick worked diligently for 18 years at Uniparts USA as a Technical Sales and Quality Manager. His work ethic, integrity, and reliability were hallmarks of his character.

He is survived by his wife, his four children, his daughter-in-law, Amanda, his mother, Pam Scherer, his mother-in-law, Gail Baker, his brothers Scott and wife Lori, Doug and wife Beth and Skip and wife Holli, along with three nieces and a nephew. He is preceded in death by his father, Jack Scherer, his father-in-law, Wayne Baker and his brother-in-law, David Baker.

Rick was a faithful member of Warren Baptist Church, where his faith was evident not just in words, but in the way he lived his life. He believed strongly that all glory belongs to God and made it his aim to reflect Christ in every circumstance.

Above all else, Rick desired that his life would honor God. May his story stand as a testament to a life well lived, anchored in faith and devoted to those he loved.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:23

We invite you to remember Rick, not with sorrow, but with gratitude for a life lived faithfully, a love given freely, and a hope rooted in Christ.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, January 13th at 4:00pm at Warren Baptist Church, 777 Horizon Parkway, Grovetown, GA 30813.
