URBANA – Rickey E. Bailey, 70 of Urbana, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025 in Villa of Springfield Nursing Home.
He was born on Sept. 5, 1955 in Urbana, Ohio, the son of the late William Baxter Bailey and Vernice Ann (Sizemore) Bailey.
Rickey was a 1974 graduate of Urbana High School and spent his career working in manufacturing, including many years with Rittal. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard from 1974-1988 and the Air National Guard from 1990-1994. Rickey also served his community as a volunteer fireman with German Township for 25 years. He had a passion for muscle cars, especially his beloved 1976 Dodge Challenger, and enjoyed NASCAR and firearms.
Rickey is survived by his sister, Sherry (Bob) Roberts, Linda (Howard) McCormick, Barb (Chris) Gallimore, Tina (Rick) Salyer as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Bailey II, brother-in-law, Howard McCormick; grandparents, Marshall (Adria) Sizemore and Albert (Hazel) Bailey.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025 in VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana Ohio.
Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Jeff Allen officiating.
Burial will follow in Kingscreek Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the donor's favorite charity.
