Rickey Don Blankenship, 71, passed away Monday, November 3, 2025.
Cremation is under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Rickey was born on August 15, 1954, in Hugo, Oklahoma to Jewel “Dude” Blankenship and Gladys Gasaway Blankenship. He liked fast cars and trucks and going to the races. Rickey operated large heavy equipment, but the bulldozer was his favorite. He was an avid animal lover, so much that he refused to hunt. Rickey took on his mother’s poodle, Bobby, and had him for almost 17 years. He came from a family of loggers and enjoyed being outdoors and in the woods.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Tina Blankenship; daughter, Misty Wilkinson; and brother, Wesley Blankenship.
Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Vercher; grandchildren, Samantha Power, Breana Horner, Faith Wilkinson, Mikey Wilkinson; and a host of extended family and friends.
