Rickey Alan Huneycutt, 62, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away, Tuesday, September 10, at Atrium – Cabarrus.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 3pm Saturday, September 14, at Bethel (Bear Creek) Reformed Church, officiated by Rev. Dr. Patrick McCabe. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00pm prior to the service.
Rickey was born April 14, 1962 in Stanly County, son of the late Ellis Daniel Huneycutt and Annie Mae Barringer Huneycutt. He was a member of Bethel (Bear Creek) Reformed Church and lived out his life as a man of faith every day. Rick was a 1980 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. He was active in scouting and achieved the highest rank of Eagle Scout. He was an avid sportsman and loved the outdoors. He especially enjoyed time hunting and fishing. Rick loved his family and was a proud Pawpaw to five grandchildren. Rick loved and was loved by so many. To know him was to love him and to forever be loved by him. Rick was a devoted dad, spouse, and friend who was always willing to extend a helping hand and fulfill a need. He was a hard worker and desired to instill, and pass on, godly wisdom and values to his children, family, and friends.
He is survived by his wife Sherry Earnhardt Huneycutt, son Cory Huneycutt (Christina); daughter, Lindsey Cairnes (Jonathan); step son, Phillip Kluttz (Lauren); brothers, Wayne Huneycutt (Rebecca), Larry Huneycutt (Bonnie); sisters, Marie Casperson (Richard), Robin Wyatt (Mark); grandchildren, Maisey, Ellis, Beckett, Madelyn and Emma.
