Rickey Lee Smith

Rickey Lee Smith, 71, of Newnan, Georgia, was born on May 16, 1954, and passed away on October 31, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family and the enduring presence of his wife, Vicki-his partner of 54 years. Together, they grew up, built a blessed life he was proud of, and weathered each storm side by side. Over the past year, as Rickey faced illness, Vicki remained his constant-his caregiver, his comfort, his strength, his rock. Their love was the kind that few ever get to experience: forged in youth, tested by time, and deepened by every shared moment.
A man of grit, grace, and devotion, Rickey was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need and had a remarkable ability to fix just about anything. In the 1980s, he founded Smith Pipeline, Inc.-a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit and tireless dedication. Whether operating his tractor or "playing in the dirt," Rickey found joy and success in honest labor. His hands told the story of a man who built more than pipelines during the week or ponds on the weekends; he built a legacy.
There is an immeasurable circle of family, friends, neighbors, and employees who were touched by Rickey's generosity, leadership, and humor over the years. He lived with purpose and intention, never giving up.
Rickey is survived by his wife, Vicki; their three strong daughters, Carmen Sanders, Kimberly Smith (Sandra), and Ashley (Brad Crabtree); and their beloved grandchildren, Madisson, Lucas, Brooks, Natalia, and Esperanza. He also leaves behind Sisters Jackie Hiers and Mary Fritts, Brother Bobby Smith, extended family, and friends. Rickey was preceded in death by his mother, father, step mother, brother, sisters, son-in-law and many others excitedly welcoming him into his Heavenly home.
