Rickie C. Bodenhamer “Bodie”, age 72, passed away peacefully in the hands of his beloved wife and daughter in Denver, Colorado on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital. He was born September 13, 1952, in Macomb, Illinois to Derrall and Maxine Bodenhamer. He was a 1970 graduate of Macomb Senior High. Then he attended Bailey Tech for a year in St. Louis, Missouri to be a diesel mechanic. Rick married his high school sweetheart, September 18, 1971, in Colchester, Illinois. He started working as a mechanic for a Dodge dealer in Mesa, Arizona. Rick then worked for a lift truck service in Billings, Montana which brought him and his wife to Sheridan, Wyoming to start their lives. He and his wife then welcomed their baby girl, Amy, on March 30, 1982. Rick then became a supervisor Mechanic for the Wyoming State Highway Department, which moved him and his family to Gillette, Wyoming where life for them had begun! In 2002 Rick became a site supervisor for Wyoming Machinery at NARM & Black Thunder. He truly lived life to the fullest through nature; camping, fishing, hunting, riding four wheelers, shooting guns, riding his motorcycle, wood working, and traveling with his family. Rick attended the First Christian Church throughout his lifetime, leading the worship service. He was also a deacon for the church as well. Rick is survived by his wife, Fran Bodenhamer (Gillette, Wyoming); a daughter Amy Sweeney (Gillette, Wyoming); and many grandchildren; Madison Moss (Marlow, Oklahoma), Jalia Woods, Lilly Gil, Gaige Sweeny (Gillette, Wyoming); great granddaughter Anaraya Woods (Gillette, Wyoming); his mother-in-law Ruby Steele (Quincy IL); and sister and brother-in-law Shirley and George Thielbar (Paw Paw, Michigan); and nephew Brian Theilbar (Manito, Illinois). Rick was a hardworking man who had the biggest soul for those he loved. He was very family-oriented, who loved nothing more being with his family. No matter what each day brought, Rick was always positive and had the most amazing and uplifting attitude. He was the most supportive person for anyone, who always had everyone’s back. Above all else, Rick loved his grandchildren and wife immensely.
