Ricky Pierce Obituary

Ricky "TKO" David Pierce, age 58, of Niceville, Florida received the great honor of going to be with the Lord after a long and courageous battle with cancer on March 4th, 2024. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ricky, known by his call sign "TKO", had a distinguished military career. He graduated from West Jefferson High School in 1984 and joined the Louisiana Air National Guard. After earning a bachelor's degree in professional aviation from Louisiana Tech University, he was awarded a pilot slot with the 159th Fighter Wing. Over his 31 years of service, Ricky became dual qualified to fly the F15 Eagle and the C130. He served his country proudly as a member of the 2nd Special Operations Squadron from 2012-2016, flying remote missions and protecting America where he earned 11 Aerial Achievement Medals. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2016, with a successful career that included flying internationally for American Airlines. Ricky is survived by his wife, Danielle Ferrera Pierce and his daughters, Laura Pierce and Ashleigh Pierce Jimenez (Leonardo); his sister Sally Pierce Havnen (Derek); his brother, Mark Pierce (Janine) and his father, Carl Pierce. He was preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Pierce and his mother, Maxine Byerley Pierce. Visitation will be held beginning at 11AM on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Prompt Succor (Ursuline Academy), 2701 State Street, New Orleans, Louisiana followed by Mass beginning at 12 Noon. Interment will take place at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, Louisiana following Mass. Ricky's legacy will endure due to his unwavering commitment to his nation, his passion for aviation and the profound influence he had on his peers. He embodied devout Faith, finding solace in Prayer and reading Scripture. Ricky was a dedicated family man who loved to travel, hunt and spend time with his wife, daughters, son-in-law and friends. Though he may have left this earthly plane, Ricky "TKO" Pierce's spirit will live on through the countless lives he touched and the enduring legacy of service, love and devotion he leaves behind. May he rest in Eternal Peace, knowing that his memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Mothe Funeral Home is assisting the family during this difficult time. Danielle, words cannot express the depth of our sympathy for the loss of such a great man. We first met TKO years ago in Destin and quickly developed a great friendship with him. We felt so Blessed to have him in our lives. He took Holden and Armand fishing one cold day in Destin and they had a blast. He was truly so kind and selfless. He absolutely adored you and both of your beautiful daughters. God truly gained an Angel the day he took his last breath. Praying that you find comfort in all the wonderful memories that you have from the many years that you shared together and also in knowing that you will be reunited with him one day in the presence of our Lord.
You and your daughters will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.
Much love, Armand and Kim Prezioso

Long time since Laughlin AFB when I first met you as a new student pilot. I enjoyed flying with you and I loved your sense of humor and Louisiana wit. We reconnected at American Airlines these past 25 years and I enjoyed chatting and texting with you these last few years as you always stayed in the fight. Ultimately you have won, well done true and faithful servant.
My condolences to your family and friends.
See you soon, but not today.
