Ricky "Bubba" Tate, 35, of Abilene, formerly of Big Spring died Saturday, August 26, 2023. Visitation at Myers & Smith Funeral Home will be Sunday, Sept. 3, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held at the funeral home Monday, Sept. 4, at 11 a.m. A fund has been set up at Myers & Smith Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
Bubba was born May 21, 1988 in Big Spring. He spent most of his life in Big Spring except for the last 9 years in Abilene.
Bubba worked all of his life in the oil field and windmill industry. He owned his own company BTX Carriers. Working in the oilfield he was able to travel the world and experience some amazing adventures with his friends/coworkers. He enjoyed hanging with his friends and family while barbequing and drinking a cold one all while watching a good ole football game. He loved singing, dancing and making memories with his children, nieces and nephews. Bubba was the life of the party and had one of the most contagious smiles you will ever meet. There was no such thing as a stranger, he always made you feel like family. He loved his mother, brother and sister and would move mountains for them. Bubba's impact and love will remain in all of our lives forever.
Ricky is survived by 5 children: Davian Tate (his mother Emelda Solis), Layla Bollier, Havyn (Baby) Tate (their mother Amy Horner), Ryatt Tate, and Rowdy Tate and siblings of Ryatt and Rowdy, whom he loved as his own: Nicholas Cruz, Averie Calcote, and Kannon Calcote (their mother Mary Calcote); his mother: Jonetta Tate of Big Spring; 1 brother: Shannon Bedford of Abilene; and 1 sister: Tiffiny Balios of Big Spring. He had many nieces, nephew, cousins and many extended family.
