Ricky Wayne Thompson

Ricky Thompson, age 62, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away on February 8, 2026, in San Angelo, Texas.

Ricky was born on April 23, 1963, in Colorado City, Texas, to Billy Ray Thompson and Sandra Kay Thompson. He attended school in Colorado City and later dedicated many years of his life working as a Guard for the GEO Group.

Ricky was a very independent, strong-willed man with a heart as big as the world. He was the kind of person who would give you his last dollar or anything he had if he knew you needed it. A hard worker his entire life, Ricky took pride in everything he did. He loved fishing, but more than anything, he loved his family and friends. Ricky loved with his whole heart and never missed a family reunion, cherishing every moment spent with those he cared about.

Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Bill Thompson; his mother, Sandra Thompson; his nephew, Cade Thompson; his grandparents, Kenneth and Mary Watkins, and Johnny and Ora Thompson; as well as numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.

He is survived by his sister, Paula Reed and husband Joe of Corsicana, Texas; sister, Johnnie Whatley and husband David of Corsicana, Texas; brother, Jimmy Thompson and wife Tanya of Lometa, Texas; uncle, Clayton Watkins and wife Debbie of San Angelo, Texas; aunt, Nelda Watkins of San Angelo, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Cody Reed, David Esser, Cody Daniels, Ricky Green, Justin Stensby, and Joe Charles.

The family of Ricky Thompson would like to extend their sincere thanks to hospice, Clayton Watkins, Debbie Watkins, and Jillian Watkins Cortez for their care, support, and compassion.
