Ridgley Delrita Logan was born on July 20, 1934, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Elliott Smith and Annie Lou (Askew) Smith. She was the second oldest to three sisters, Dolores, Sylvia, and Shirley. Ridgley was affectionately known as "Butchie". She was baptized as a child at Calvary Baptist Church and had a very strong faith in the Lord. She was educated in the Pittsburgh Public School system. She met and married Harold Logan and in this union, Lloyd Elliott Logan was born. They lived in New York City while Harold owned Double L Records and ran the New York City nightclub L&L's Turntable on Broadway. He was also the manager and partner with the late, Lloyd Price who was Mr. Personality. She returned to reside in her home in Pittsburgh following the death of her husband Harold in 1969. Later in life, her companion in love was William (Howard) Johnson. Butchie was an amazing mother who loved and adored her son Lloyd and had a very strong, unbreakable bond. Sylvia Robinson was blessed to become a part of Butchie's family after she became a high school sweetheart with Lloyd. Sylvia was the daughter Butchie never had. She helped raise Sylvia and her beautiful granddaughter Lana LaCole Logan and they were an inseparable union. She was employed at Pittsburgh Port Authority where she retired. She was also employed at PNC Bank and was a crossing guard for Pittsburgh Public Schools. She loved spending quality time with her sister Shirley, especially trips to Red Lobster. She loved going to the casino and would also go to Bingo every Friday. Butchie loved to cook, and was an amazing cook. Whenever you would go to her home, you were guaranteed to have a meal. Her family and friends were her joy and she made sure that they were taken care of. She never met a stranger and would always speak her mind telling you like it is and would never hold her tongue, always usually a few choice words. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was the life of the party and the nucleus of the family. Ridgley "Butchie" Logan gained her heavenly wings on Saturday, December 17, 2022.
