Rita Barna Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Logan-Videon Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. - Broomall on Dec. 27, 2025.
Rita Marie Barna (née Robinson) passed away peacefully at Sunrise Senior Living in Paoli on December 25, 2025, at the age of 83.

Rita was the daughter of William and Mildred (née Henry) Robinson. Born on October 4, 1942 in Flushing, NY, Rita grew up in Upper Darby and was a proud graduate of Archbishop Prendergast High School. She had a strong work-ethic, and spent the overwhelming majority of her career working for General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC), then caring for her grandchildren during the daytime, and then working for Prudential FoxRoach.

Rita shined with a warm spirit and kind heart throughout her life. She married Alexander (Alex) Barna, Sr with whom she shared 52 happy years of marriage, and together they built a beautiful family filled with love and laughter.

Rita was known for her infectious smile, faith, empathy, and her dedication to care for and support family and friends. She touched the lives of everyone she met with her generosity, wisdom, and quiet grace. As a mother, she was the heart of her family, always there with open arms, sage advice, and endless support.

She is survived by her loving sons Alex (Jr.) and Stephen, her daughter-in-law Bridget, her five grandchildren Zachary, Kaela, Aiden, Colin, and Maureen, and her great-grandson Theodore (Teddy).

She was predeceased by her husband, mother, and father, as well as her three older brothers William (Jr.), James, and Bernard Robinson.

Rita's legacy of love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Saint Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 2400 N Providence Rd, Media, Pennsylvania at 11:00 am. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 10:00 am to 10:45 am prior to the service.

Interment will follow at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield, Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rita's name to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Rest in peace, dear Rita. You will be forever missed and always remembered.
