Rita Benfatto Obituary

Born in the Bronx, New York to the late Romeo and Frances (Toto) Milano, she lived in the Bronx, Edison and Metuchen before moving to North Brunswick in 1978. She was a secretary for General Motors Cadillac Division in New York and then for over 10 years at John Adams Elementary School in North Brunswick before her retirement.
Mrs. Benfatto was a communicant of St. Mary of Mount Virgin R.C. Church in New Brunswick. She was a two term president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the North Brunswick Italian American Club.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her sister Rosemarie Reggina. Surviving are her husband Anthony J. Benfatto; her son Anthony J. Benfatto, Jr. of North Brunswick; and her brother Joseph Milano and his wife Linda of Stanford, Connecticut.
A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 AM Saturday at St. Mary of Mt. Virgin Church, Remsen Avenue and Sandford Street, New Brunswick. Entombment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick. Arrangements are by Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick.

Our condolences to Tony and Anthony. Rita had an infectious smile and laugh. She was my neighbor and friend for many years in Timber Glen when it was first built. We have wonderful memories and raised our children together. I will never forget how Rita was a friend to my mother when we traveled. My mother loved Rita. RIP, my friend, I will never forget you.❤
