Rita A. Bernier

Rita A. (Patenaude) Bernier, age 80, of Fall River, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Charlton memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Albert J. Bernier. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Sophia (Levasseur) Patenaude who passed away when Rita was eight months old and she was raised by the late Eva (Watts) Michaud. She was a homemaker most of her life. Rita was a member of the Good Shepherd Choir, past member of Whippoorwills Singing Group and past secretary of the Tenant Council at Mitchell Heights. She enjoyed camping in New Hampshire with her family and she delivered the Herald News Newspaper for many years until the age of 78. She is survived by her daughter, Collette A. Bernier & fiancé Raymond Seyez of Fall River; her three sons, Gerard P. Bernier, Robert A. Bernier & wife Cindy and Maurice A. Bernier & husband Willam all of Fall River; grandsons, Luke J. DeCosta & wife Erica of Fall River, Robert, Joseph & Michael Bernier of Florida; great grandchildren, Lilly DeCosta and Noah Napert . She was the sister of the late Blanche Minville. Mrs. Bernier's funeral will be held on Monday, October 22, 2012 9:00AM from the BOULE FUNERAL HOME, 615 Broadway, Fall River, MA, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in Good Shepherd Parish, South Main St., Fall River. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00PM to 8:00PM.
