Rita Blaskie Obituary
Rita Therese Blaskie, age 95, Joliet, IL, passed away peacefully on September 10th, 2023, with family at her side. Rita was born on January 12, 1928, the daughter of the late Walter L. and Rose Ann (nee Faulker) Elwood.
Rita is survived by her children Laura (James) Norberg, Sharon (William) Markley, Donna (Daniel) Hoffman and Robert (Judy Pellegrini) Blaskie; her grandchildren, Erin (Brandon) Dooley, Zach (Sarah) Norberg, Kelsey (Carlos) Anani and Andrew (Stephanie) Larsen; and her great-grandchildren, Gracie Dooley, Aislin Dooley, Reyza Larsen and Kyrie Anani. Rita also held dear Dolly, a friend from childhood; and thoughtful, former neighbors, LeeAnn, Kelly and Ron. Family would also like to recognize Nancy, who was a special person in mom's life.
Rita was preceded by the love of her life, her childhood sweetheart Robert C. Blaskie; her parents; and four older siblings.
For the past couple of decades, Rita found great enjoyment hosting "garage get-togethers" with her wonderful, kind, caring neighbors. Rita prided herself on her wonderful homemaking skills and the care of her husband and children.
Visitation for Rita Therese Blaskie will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL, from 9:00 a.m until the time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held privately by the family at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lighthouse Hospice who provided diligent, dedicated, heartfelt service to Rita and family during Rita's final days in her home.

We are so sorry to hear of Rita´s passing. We enjoyed visiting with her when she would visit the beauty school. She would often bring us baked goods and visit with us. She will be missed here. Prayers to her family at this time.
