Rita Carol Bowman

Rita Carol Bowman, 75, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, on December 31, 2025, in Georgetown, Kentucky. Born on April 3, 1950, in Georgetown, she was the cherished daughter of the late Elroy A. and Geneva Yoste Gillispie. Rita had a deep appreciation for the beauty of the past and was an avid collector of antiques. Her home was lovingly filled with unique treasures, each piece holding a story and reflecting her thoughtful eye and sentimental heart. She delighted in spending her days visiting yard sales and thrifting at Goodwill, always on the lookout for something special. Rita also found great joy in tending to her flowers, nurturing her gardens with a true green thumb and filling her surroundings with color and life. Above all, Rita will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love of simple joys, and the warmth she brought to those around her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Rita will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Michelle (Anthony) Ritchey of Georgetown; one son, Timothy (Tina) Ritchey of Mackville; her granddaughter, Chelby Black of Georgetown along as numerous cousins and friends. Besides her parents, she was proceeded in her passing by her brother, Phillip Gillispie and her sister, Jean Evelyn Roberts. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Georgetown Cemetery with Keith Barkley officiating.
