Rita Kay Daniels, 67, of Peggs, Oklahoma, passed away surrounded by her loving family, Friday, November 22, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Daniels was born October 6, 1957, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Lena Leanne Goodmoney Roof. She graduated from high school in Oaks, Oklahoma. She attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, where she received her associate's degree in Accounting.
Mrs. Daniels worked at Northeastern State University in the accounting department for several years before going to work for Cherokee Nation as a medical coder, from which she retired.
Her favorite past times were barrel racing, sewing, painting, and most of all spending time with her family (especially her grandbabies!) and friends.
Mrs. Daniels is survived by her loving husband, Kevin Daniels, whom she married September 7, 1990, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas; one son, Kacey Bright and his fiance, Anastasia of Greenbay, Wisconsin; two daughters, Bailey Most and her husband Jack, of Salina, Oklahoma, and Melanee Kindle and her husband Larry of Sweet Home, Oregon; one brother, Franklin Roof and his wife Martha of Stilwell, Oklahoma; two sisters, Candace Roof of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and Glorena "Susie" Russell and her husband Steve; seven grandchildren, Haylie Bennett, Henry Sarten, Maycee Sarten, Sebastian Bright, Addilynn Most, Lukas Most, and Linlee Most; one great-grandchild, Olivia Bennet; sister-in-law, Carla Jumper of Tahlequah; brother-in-law, Dustin Daniels and his wife Jennifer of Lowrey, Oklahoma; and her long time best friend who has been by her side through it all, Sandy Payne.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Raymond Wilson, and her mother-in-law, Sandra Daniels.
There will be a visitation, Tuesday, November 26, 2024, 5:00 to 7:00 PM, at Hart Funeral Home in Tahlequah.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 27, 2024, 10:00 AM, in the Chapel of Hart Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Moodys Cemetery.
