Rita Kessler Dent, age 98, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025 in her 99th year. Born in Baltimore to the late Andrew and Helen (Peterson) Kessler; beloved wife of the late Benjamin Dent; loving sister of the late Leroy "Lee" Kessler; cherished aunt of Andrew "Drew" Kessler and wife Peggy of Sarasota, FL, Deanna Gary and husband Alan of Dundalk, Mark Kessler and wife Karen of Bel Air, Stephen Kessler and wife Jenn of Punta Gorda, FL and Gloria Schlosser and husband Frank of Fallston and the late Angela DiPaula; dear sister-in-law of Gloria Kessler of Parkville. Also survived by 17 great nieces and nephews, 20 great-great nieces and nephews and 1 great-great-great niece and Angela's surviving husband, Michael Dipaula.

She earned a Master's Degree and was a retired school teacher and school board department head. Rita taught English at Dundalk High for 30 years, went overseas to teach English in France on a US Military base and retired as the Head of the English Department for Baltimore County Schools. Her family will miss her dearly.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 PM, in the family owned Parkview Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 7527 Harford Rd, Parkville/Northeast Baltimore. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on December 3, 2025 at 10:00 AM, in The National Shrine of St. Alphonsus Liguori, 114 W. Saratoga St., Baltimore, MD. Interment will follow in Parkwood Cemetery.
