Rita Jones, 87, of Evans, passed away on January 4, 2025 in Augusta.
Rita was born in Bronx, NY to Abraham and Dorothy Jacobs on November 22, 1937. She married David Jones on October 15, 1962 In New Jersey.
She worked as a receptionist at Lakeside School in Spring Valley, NY, where she later became a homemaker for her family.
She and her husband, David, later retired to Florida where she became involved in ceramic making classes. It was here where she made many friends and became apart of different clubs and organizations. She was a very caring and loving friends, wife, mother and grandmother.
Rita is preceded in death by her parents, Abraham and Dorothy Jacobs, and her sister, Shirley Margolies.
Rita is survived by her husband, David Jones, her son, Michael Jones (Maureen), her daughter, Lisa Ramos (Justo), her grandchildren, Kristina Ramos, Danielle Disch (Stephen), her great grandchildren, Alexia Ramos, Justin Plyler, Kyleigh Disch, Wyatt Disch and Tony Disch.
The Family of Rita Jones wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Phillip Kennedy, Enhabit Hospice, Barclay House of Augusta, The Agner Family and The Glover Family.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Platt's Funeral Home, Belair Chapel. The family will recieve friends for one hour prior to the service from 12:00 PM until start of service.
