I had always enjoyed spending time with Rita ....she had what I consider my two favorite attributes in a person 1) a sense of humor and 2) and keeping it real. She made things funny with her always ready sense of humor.....and she did not candycoat the truth. Several times she made an uncomfortable gathering more comfortable with her smile and her humor. Really going to miss her presence at all our family gatherings.

I remember the ball games we played in the vacant lot on evenings after school and supper. It was a whole neighborhood affair and Rita was small but mighty at the bat. With older brother and her sister Mary Jane, we had a great time. Sorry to hear of her passing, but still have fond memories of our neighborhood gang. The Pettus, Aubuchon, Nash, Son and Stotlers were a fun group to grow up with.
