Rita D. Kovar (nee Russell), age 84, of Parma, Ohio; beloved wife of the late George W. Kovar, Jr. who passed away in March 1995; loving mother of George W. Kovar, III (Karen Kinney), Kevin Kovar (Donna), Laurie Kovar, Pamela Stahl (Jeffrey), and Wayne Kovar (Debra); dear grandmother of Aubrey (Nathan), Matthew (Emily), Becca, Bryan (Chelsey), Erin (fiancé Ben), Melissa (Dave), Eric (Crystal), Jarrod (Erin), Wesley, and Abigail, and great-grandmother of Lincoln, Milo, Madelyn, Ari, Stali, Bobby, Anna, Chase, Ella, and Easton; cherished sister of Joan Marcell (Ray, deceased), Robert Onyak, and Richard Onyak (Carolyn); aunt of many nieces and nephews. Rita loved cooking, watching old movies, and bird-watching, but enjoyed caring for and spending time with her large family most of all. She passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2016. The Kovar family wishes to thank the staff at Manor Care Parma, and at U.H. Parma Medical Center 9th Floor C.C.U., for the excellent and compassionate care provided to Rita. Although flowers are appreciated, the family prefers that you please consider making a memorial contribution to the Parma Animal Shelter, 6260 State Road, Parma, Ohio 44134, or please visit www.parmashelter.org. The Kovar family will receive friends at the BUSCH FUNERAL HOME, 7501 Ridge Road, Parma, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 7, 2016. Haven't seen Rita in years but I have happy memories of visits we made in our childhood. Simply, Rita was a warm and wonderful woman and she will be missed by many. We all will see her again one day. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all family members.

Growing up on Pleasant Valley was the best, but what made it special was having The Kovars for neighbors. I have wonderful memories of your mom and my kids remember your mom as the nice lady next door, she was wonderful. I will miss her.
