Rita M. Kroll

Rita Mary Piskor Kroll, age 90, of Hobson, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 4, 2026. She was born on February 18, 1935 to Ludwig Piskor and Agnes Linhart Piskor in Karnes City.

She married Ernest Kroll on September 7, 1959, embarking on a beautiful journey together, raising five precious children: Thomas, Gregory, James, Carolyn, and Sharon. With unwavering dedication, Rita nurtured her family, ensuring they had every opportunity to thrive as they grew and learned. As a pillar of warmth and care, she lovingly managed her home, sharing her talents through cooking, baking, sewing, and crocheting. As her children graduated and began their own families, Rita dedicated herself to a fulfilling career at the Karnes County Appraisal District, and later, savoring the joy of retirement, traveling, and cherishing moments with her loved ones. A devoted member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Rita's faith was a beacon of hope and inspiration. Though her presence will be deeply missed, the boundless love she shared will continue to uplift and inspire all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Ernest.

Rita is survived by her children Thomas (SuzAnne) Kroll, Gregory (Linda) Kroll, James (Joy) Kroll, Carolyn Kroll, and Sharon (Patrick) Ledbetter; grandchildren, Krystle (Sanjay Dixit) Frahm, Brenda (Cole) Orszulak, John (Christina) Kroll, Marie (Chase Perdue) Kroll, Ana Kroll, Michael Kroll, Raegan Ledbetter, and Jarrett Ledbetter; and great-grandchildren, Milind, Gerik, Arlyn, Cole "C.J.", Echo, Kai, Otillia, Stella, Christian, and Adelyn. Rita is also survived by her sister, Zita ( Jimmy) Hollis.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9th at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hobson. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10th, also at the Church. Interment will immediately follow at the Hobson Cemetery.
