Rita M. Landers Iamele

Mrs. Rita Chandler-Landers Iamele, 82, a resident of Cummaquid, MA. Passed away after a long battle with cancer. She was the wife of Anthony B. Iamele.

Mrs. Iamele was born in Weymouth, MA. Attended and graduated from Braintree High School, class of 1951. She lived in Braintree for 25 years.

Before moving to Cummaquid, Mrs. Iamele lived in Braintree, Randolph, Stoughton and Duxbury, MA.

Mrs. Iamele was involved with the CCD program at Immaculate Conception, Stoughton; the youth ministry CYO program at Holy Family Church, Duxbury; and the American Foreign Exchange Services Program, Duxbury. Mrs. Iamele was a communicant at Our Lady of Victory Church in Centerville, a former board member of the Champ Homes in Hyannis. She also volunteered at the VNA of Dennis and St. Clare's in Hyannis. Also in various ministries at Our Lady of Victory Church, Centerville.

Surviving beside her husband, are her sister Cynthia Swaida of West Yarmouth, MA; her children, Donald F. Landers, Jr. of Niantic, CT, Mark Landers of Sagamore, MA, Ted Landers of Manchester, MA, Paul Landers of Cooperstown, NY, Suzanne Gottshall of Canterbury, CT, and Maximo Allahua of Somerset, MA, also her step children, Mary Altman of Carmel, NY, Linda Varney of Marshfield, MA, Micheal Iamele of Plymouth, MA, and Mark Iamele of Georgetown, MA. She will be truly missed by her 18 grandchildren, 11 step grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Our Lady of Victory Church, 230 S. Main Street, Centerville, MA. A Funeral Mass in her honor will follow on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at Our Lady of Victory Church, 230 S. Main Street, Centerville, MA 02632.
