Rita Matteo

Rita M. Matteo (nee McGahan) of Philadelphia, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at the age of 93.

Rita enjoyed taking trips to the casino and playing the penny slots. She had a sweet tooth and always found room for a cookie or a treat from Dunkin'. In her spare time she was often found doing her seek and find books or taking walks to go with her "use it or lose it" motto. But most of all, Rita loved being involved with her family, kids and grandkids. She always attended their activities and proudly cheered them on from the sidelines or audience. Rita never missed an opportunity to spend a special occasion with family and friends.

Beloved wife of the late Ralph; loving mother of James (Donna) Curran, Thomas (Carol) Curran and Jo-Ann (Gene) Sejda; cherished Nana of Jimmy III (Ashley) Curran, Dawn (Zac) Loucks, Thomas (Beth) Curran, Joshua (Devon) Curran, Michael Curran, Taylor Sejda and Nicholas (Alexa) Sejda and doting great Nana of Aiden, Jimmy, Cody, Madison, Liam, Lexi Rae, Brayden, Dustin, Ally, Lilli, Jace and Colette.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing and funeral on Monday, March 16, 2026, from 8:30 AM until 10:15 AM at the T.J. Fluehr Funeral Home, 11010 Knights Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Calvary Church, 11024 Knights Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
