Rita Schultz Mayrent

At 86 years young, Rita passed away peacefully at home on September 12, 2025. Throughout her full long life, she exemplified kindness, quick-wit and a wonderful sense of humor that she held onto until her final days. Rita brought comfort and joy to all who knew her. Her spicy spirit, warm smile and devotion to her family and friends near and far touched the lives of many. Whether offering a kind word or a listening ear, she gave selflessly and loved unconditionally.

Left to treasure wonderful memories are Rita's three children: Nick (Patty), Nancy (in heaven and welcomed mom home), and Gail (Brad). Rita was a loving grandma and was always eager to boast about her (8) loving grandchildren and (11) beloved great grandchildren. Rita's deceased husband Howard, passed away in 1993. Howard was a loving and devoted husband until the day he died. They enjoyed many years together. They are now reunited in heaven.

A mass celebrating Rita's life will be held on Saturday, October 11th at 10:00 am at St. Norbert & Our Lady of the Brook Church located at 1809 Walters Avenue, Northbrook, IL 60062. After mass, all are welcome to enjoy brunch in the church basement. Breakfast/brunch was mom's favorite meal!
