Rita Sharon Nichols, 77, of Wall, TX, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 20, 2025 in Wall, TX. Rita was born February 27, 1948, to Perry and Lula Bell Holder Shaud, in Stevenson, Alabama. She is the wife of Nolan Nichols and the mother of Chris Nichols.

Rita valued the importance of higher education. Seeking and obtaining an Associate’s Degree in Psychology, later in life, she inspired and supported her son to pursue his own endeavors of obtaining a Master’s degree.

Rita was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, aka “Bubba.” She loved the beauty of God’s greenery and flowers. Rita enjoyed cleaning, which is weird, according to her loved ones. Her son will no longer have anyone to clean his windows, so he is looking for someone in the family to “step up.” She was the best “bus driver” for her grandchildren. She picked them up and took them wherever they needed to go. Rita enjoyed attending Wall Brethren Church and deeply loved all of her church family. The Wall community will greatly miss seeing her at basketball and volleyball games, track meets, and Friday night football games.

She is preceded in death by her parents and loving stepfather, Mike Shaud, as well as her sister Barbara Kilgore.

She is survived by her husband Nolan of Wall, TX, her son Chris Nichols and wife Amy, her grandchildren Garrett Nichols and wife Hannah, Grant Nichols, and Calista Nichols, her great grandchildren Julianna and Joanna Nichols. She is also survived by her sisters Peggy Reaux, husband Louis, and Judy Dailey, husband Wayne, along with several nieces and nephews.

The Celebration of Life will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Wall Brethren Church in Wall, TX.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wall Brethren Church or West Texas Rehabilitation Center Hospice of San Angelo.
