Rita Novich Obituary
She was born July 30, 1951 in Granite City, IL to the late Henry Lee and Lovie Christine (Fowler) Hutchinson.
On May 1, 1993, she and John I. Novich were married in Eddyville, KY. He preceded her in death Apr. 16, 2012.
Rita served as an elevator operator at the Madison County Courthouse and later moved to work in the Assessor's office until her retirement. She loved to play the slots and bingo. She loved classic rock and her jiggy Friday's.
She is survived by a son Robert "Bobby" (Michelle) Hutchinson of Glen Carbon, 3 grandchildren, Wade, Ryan, and Maya, and 2 brothers, Jerry (Susan) Hutchinson of Waltonville, IL, and Robert (Beth) Hutchinson of Granite City. Rita was looking forward to the birth of her first great-grandchild, "Mana", next May. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 4 sisters, Gaynale, Mildred, Lucy, and Phyllis, and 6 brothers, Jay, Bill, Charlie, Marlin, Gary, and Don.
Services are private.
