Rita C. Santangelo

Rita C. Santangelo (nee Salvatore) of Norristown, passed away on Wednesday April 7, 2010 with her family by her side. She was 86 years old. Rita was a member of Holy Saviour Church and was active in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Sodality and Holy Saviour Senior Citizens group. She was a former beautician and enjoyed word search puzzles. Rita enjoyed cooking and baking, most importantly, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. Born September 19, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Elizabeth Salvatore and the beloved wife of the late Anthony J. Rita is survived by her five children: Jody Brady (Timothy) of West Norriton, Michael (Roseann) of Norristown, Lawrence (Sharon) of E. Norriton, Lorraine Pierce (John) of Havertown and Stephen (Elizabeth) of Upper Providence, her thirteen grandchildren: Lauren, Diana, Marisa, Daniel, Justin, Joshua, Maryrose, Matthew, Zachary, Nicholas, Andrew, Luke and Natalia. She was preceded in death by her two sisters; Mary and Ann and her brother Anthony. Relatives and friends are invited to Rita’s Life Celebration service on Sunday April 11 from 6 to 8PM and on Monday 8 to 8:45 AM at Boyd-Horrox of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike 1-800-GIVNISH. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30 AM at Holy Saviour Church 407 East main St. in Norristown. Interment will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
