Rita Schwartz Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 21, 2010.
Rita Elizabeth Louise Schwartz, age 52, of Brooklyn, Mi went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 after a courageous and faith filled battle with lung cancer. She spent her final days under the loving care of her family. Rusty, Zeke, Peg, Elaine, Dick, Roby and many, many friends under the guidance of hospice. She was the beautiful wife of Rusty Schwartz, the dedicated and loving mother of Ezekiel Levi "Zeke" Schwartz and the best owner a dog could have, Skittles. Rita was born on December 7th, 1957 to Donald and Helen (Keinath) Aebersold of Britton, Mi.; her father preceded her in death. Rita loved her family, mother Helen of Tecumseh, sisters Elaine (Dick) Tirb of Clinton, Mi., and Peggy (Rex) Fetzer of Casa Grande, Arizona. Favorite in-laws, Dick and Roberta Schwartz, Rick and Kim, John and Joann. Nieces and nephews, Fuzzy & Amanda, Matt & Kate, Jessica & Eric, David, Chris, Jason and great nephew William. Rita graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1976, worked at Chrysler Proving Grounds in Chelsea for 19 years and was a massage therapist for 10, healing many sore muscles. Rita was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous with 23 years sobriety. She loved the Lord and was a long-term member and servant at Heart O' the Lakes United Brethren Church in Brooklyn, Mi. Her pride and joy was her son Zeke. Homeschooling, golf tournaments, swimming in the pool, sledding, vacationing in Mexico and bringing him up in the ways of the Lord were just a few of her personal enjoyments. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Heart O' the Lakes Church for a special place in her heart, the Casa De Abuelos, in Merida, Mexico. Visitation will be Friday, April 23, 2010 at Heart O' the Lakes Church Brooklyn, MI in the Fellowship Hall from 3 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A Celebration of Rita's life, led by Pastor's Kevin Cherry, Nathan Baumann and Josh Good will be held Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Heart O' the Lakes Church starting at 11am with a Rita-style party in the fellowship Hall immediately following. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Addison.
