Rita Thomas

Rita Thomas was born on November 6, 1956, in Rochester, NY, to her devoted parents Mary and Eugene Kimbrew. From her earliest days, Rita's life was marked by kindness, warmth, and a gentle strength that touched everyone blessed to know her.
A proud graduate of East High School in Rochester, Rita grew into a woman whose generous heart became the center of her family. On August 13, 1988, she married the love of her life, Victor Thomas, and together they built a home overflowing with laughter, faith, and unconditional love. Rita was truly the magnet of the family-the one who brought everyone together. Whether she was hosting holiday gatherings, welcoming friends at her kitchen table, or simply sharing a warm smile, she made every person feel cherished.
Rita found joy in crafting, decorating, traveling, and, most of all, spending time with her grandchildren, who lit up her life in countless ways. After many dedicated years, she retired from Woods Oviatt Gilman law firm in Rochester, NY, leaving behind colleagues who admired her kindness and work ethic.
She was predeceased by her parents Mary and Eugene Kimbrew; and by her siblings Marla Love, Bruce Kimbrew, and Richard Kimbrew.
Rita leaves to cherish her beautiful memory, her devoted husband, Victor Thomas; children, Cory Burke and Creig (Chelsea) Jackson; treasured grandchildren, Parker, Olivia, and Austin. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings, Ronald (Leola) Kimbrew, Gerald (Eileen) Kimbrew, Cheryl (Bill) Williams, Denise Kimbrew, Gene Kimbrew, Anthony Kimbrew, Thomas (Leslie) Kimbrew, and Janet Cromwell.
Rita's memory is especially carried by her dear friends, Tanya Peterson and Tony & Linda Sacino; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends whose lives were brightened by her presence.
Though Rita left this world far too soon, the love she gave and the joy she shared will continue to echo through the lives of all who knew her. Her spirit remains a guiding light-steady, warm, and unforgettable.
