Rita Carpenter Wilkinson

Rita Carpenter Wilkinson, 71, of Concord, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2025 at Atrium Health Cabarrus Hospital in Concord.

Mrs. Wilkinson was born July 11, 1954 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina to the late Wilbert Lee Carpenter and the late Ella Pauline Hill.

She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Michael Carpenter and Gary Carpenter.

Rita was a lover of many things, including but not limited to her annual family “girls trip” beach vacation, puzzles, yard work, and spoiling her friends and family with gifts. She was also an excellent cook and baker, a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend; always willing to lend a helping hand.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:45 pm, Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The graveside committal will follow at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens in Concord. The Reverend Tim Newton will officiate. Burial will follow at the Cabarrus Memorial Gardens at 3892 Hwy 73 , Concord.

Survivors include husband, Charles E. Wilkinson of Concord, NC, daughter, Amber Wilkinson (Matthew Foster), son, Jeremy Wilkinson. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Keely Taylor, Jacob Foster, Maddie Wilkinson, and Keith Wilkinson. Her surviving siblings include sisters Kathy Lambert (Roger Lambert), Mary Anne Allmon (Tommy Allmon), and brother Danny Carpenter (Vickie Carpenter). She will also be leaving behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
