Robbin "Scotty" Scott Spicer, Sr., age 67, of Waverly, TN, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 17, 1957, in Waverly, TN, to the late Tommie Sue Spicer and Robert Nathaniel Spicer, Sr. Scotty was known for his vibrant spirit and his passion for music, which he generously shared with those around him. Scotty developed a profound love for music, mastering several instruments and playing with various bands across genres, including soul, country, and rock. He notably contributed to the band "Edna and the Hearts for Loretta Lynn," showcasing his impressive talent and dedication to the art. As "DJ King Scott", he became a familiar face in the community, entertaining at numerous events and spreading joy through his musical selections. His legacy as a compassionate and talented individual lives on in those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Sandy Spicer of Waverly, TN; son, Robin Spicer, Jr. (Vanessa) of New Johnsonville, TN; 3 grandchildren, Makayla Spicer, Nya Sabye and Angellina Sabye; 2 great grandchildren, Kataleya Walker and Ezekiel Walker; sisters, Mattie Sue Yokley (Henry), Linda Jean Hall (Phil) and Wendy June Mills (Dewayne); loving sister-in-law, Alice Spicer. Scotty is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins, cherished family friends Mrs. Virginia Napier, Billy Napier and a host of other friends.
Along with his parents, Scotty is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Nathaniel Spicer, Jr.
A funeral service to honor Scotty's life will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN, beginning at 12:00 P.M. The burial will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Waverly, TN.
Arrangements are entrusted to Luff-Bowen Funeral Home.
